Thanks for finishing this one. I did wonder how it had gone. Love the pics and my top tip for winter UK camping is use a lightweight, breathable bivy bag. I’ve got the Alpkit one and it stops drips, condensation and inevitable snow clumps from soaking my sleeping bag.

I've stopped using a bivi in a tent - found that it caused more dampness internally from condensation than it stopped from outside. To be fair a cheapish one with questionable breathability.

Glad you enjoyed, Peter. And thanks for the tip. I have a good bivy bag - never thought to use it inside my tent. What tent did you use for winter?

I use an MSR Hubba Hubba at the moment. It’s sold as a 3 season tent but works well in the winter too

Why not wear waterproofs in bed? So long as they're fairly dry, a useful extra layer!

I sometimes use my zipped up jacket and place over the sleeping bag foot if it's getting damp against the tent end. On a couple dire occasions I've worn full waterproofs in bed - in preparation for a potential urgent abandonment in dangerous conditions, last thing one wants in a suddenly shredded tent in some mad storm is to find and put them on. On such occasions everything is packed, head torch is around neck too.
